You might have read that we are completely re-doing our old Princess Mononoke Cosplays for Anime Expo ‘13 and will be cosplaying as a group with spiceyricey! Yyayyyy!!

Being that it’s spring break, we got some free time to actually start working on it! We are going to try to take a lot more WIP pictures to keep you guys in the loop to what we are up to and then you can laugh at us trying to figure out how to make cosplays aaahha haha ha h enjo y

Roosterhat here is modeling all four of the stilts she will be wearing for Moro cosplay. The back stilts were made using gryphern’s blueprints which we tweaked slightly to make them work better for a quadsuit, and hopefully we will have a tutorial out on how we made our front stilts soon!

1. plastic mesh (for embroidering?), thick wire, small plastic zipties

2. thin cereal box cardboard cut to shape, taped and hot glued together onto the base in pic 1.

3. paper macheing over the cardboard. Materials are blue autoshop towels and concentrated sta-flo liquid starch. Link to how its done in the description.

4. The only difference here is that they are painted. With acrylic and AFTER i primered the surface!

5. Eye coverings are flat marbles from the craft store and faux black fur. Fur is all hot glued on (lol) and theres some super thin stretchy fabric in the tear duct holes so it can be seen out of.

I only recently stumbled across your quite frankly FANTASTIC cosplay sets - all I can say is bravo! and I can't wait to see what you have in store for the future! I'd also like to ask a question - I noticed you used your Bec Noir and PM wings for Aziraphale and Crowley of Good Omens, and I was just wondering how you reconciled the harnesses with the suits? @u@ Thank you!

Yeah our good omens group was actually very last minute haha! I think the harnesses are hidden by Aziraphales scarf and tucked into Crowleys vest? Yeah they are the same colour as the shirts too so the blend right in! -SC

you are my number one cosplay inspiration! often times i feel discouraged and want to give up on cosplays completely.. but yours always make me smile and believe anything is possible! maybe i'll go work on mine right now. thank you guys for being so amazing!!!

And I (savedchicken) am probably going to end up at the Japantownstuck meetup whenever that is.

MAYBE Comic con 2013 if we’re lucky

1. Thank you! Jade’s skirt is actually three pieces. The shirt is a regular black long sleeve shirt that hensocks painted and added the sparkles and arm cuffs to. Her skirt is a fancy lace fabric with fluffy mesh fabric underneath (for volume otherwise it would lay flat) and the pleated black second skirt over it.

2. 3. I’m sorry but I don’t think we are very good to talk to about costume wings… honestly it was kind of a surprise they turned out as well as they did haha!

All I can do now is recommend looking on youtube for articulated costume wings and trying from there. Its just too much for us to explain. BUT if we ever make them again we will try to make a tutorial.

Also here is a really wonderful tutorial by sunnybrook1 on their costume wings. While their’s is designed to be on the wearer’s arm ours are very similar.
